William McCool Science Center
Lamping Elementary School, Las Vegas

In October, Dr. Kerry Joels visited the William McCool center, the newest site to have a Space Explorers Space Shuttle Simulator. The Center is 4,300-square feet and was built with private donations adding up to approximately $450,000, with additional donated supplies also worth $450,000. The Center contains the shuttle simulator cockpit and control room. The William McCool Science Center is named after the late pilot of the 2003 final Columbia mission.

The
Las Vegas Review-Journal covered Dr. Joels' visit to the center.

"Any student coming out of school has to know how to work effectively with others. It doesn't matter whether they work at Wal-Mart or are a professor at UNLV." ~Dr. Kerry Joels
